The Paton-Churdan board of education is once again filling a vacancy. Libby Towers, who was appointed to the board last September to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Greg Carey, offered her resignation at the board’s regular meeting Feb. 11.
Also in board business, Towers was hired as at-risk associate, a new position approved by the board at its January meeting.
Towers’ resignation from the board will be effective with the appointment of a new board member.
Paton-Churdan district residents interested in serving on the school board should notify board secretary Mitch Lewis at the school no later than Wednesday, March 4. The board anticipates making an appointment at its regular meeting March 11.
“It’s been fun being on the board. I didn’t expect it would be such a short time,” Towers said at the meeting.
“We’re sad to see you go from the board, but you’ll better serve the school where you’re going,” board member Brad Wilson said.
